Heart Disease and fat loss

Burning fat and leading a healthy lifestyle can have many benefits. For most of us, what drives us is the desire to have fit bodies. Fortunately if we diet correctly we are also improving how our body functions over-all.

While it is important to look good on the outside, it is equally important to function properly on the inside. This shows us how important it is to implement a diet and exercise plan to combat fat.

Studies show that people with apple shaped bodies run a higher risk of getting heart related diseases. Apple shaped bodies consists of fat deposits in the waist area.

Men with a waist circumference of 40" are at higher risk of developing heart disease (35" for women).

An apple shaped body is a result of excess visceral fat. This type of fat is generally found deep within the abdomen. While cutaneous fat is just below the skin, visceral fat wraps around internal organs. Visceral fat increases the risk of heart disease and diabetes.

This raises the importance of following a proper diet and exercise program. Foods high in bad fats should be avoided. Failing to diversify a diet could create deficiencies in key nutrients needed by the body.

Food is serves as fuel that allows us to perform everyday activities. A nutrient rich diet will aide in creating a healthier body.
