Maintain Healthy Weight
Once weight loss is achieved, the goal is to maintain the healthy weight. This can prove to the most challenging aspect of the whole journey. While healthy weight loss may be rewarding, it is not too difficult to steer in the wrong direction and gain back the weight lost.
The best way to maintain a healthy weight is through constant monitoring of eating and exercise habits. Below are some tips in helping maintain a healthy weight:
1. Monitor diet and exercise - Determine whether your activity level matches your diet (is your caloric intake to high or too low and are there any nutrient deficiencies present). Make changes accordingly.
2. Find motivation -
What was the driving factor for you to lose weight. It has to be something meaningful not just outer appearance. The more important it is to you, the more likely you will stick with it.3. Surround yourself with positive individuals - Unfortunately in our fast driven culture, many people are accustomed to failing. We move from one thing to another too quickly not really allowing time to see real results. This can lead to some what of a negative mentality especially in regards to weight loss. Stay away from people that put you down simply because they themselves have failed.
4. Monitor Your BMI - Find out your body mass index for your age and try to stay within a healthy bmi.
5. Challenge yourself - Be sure to include variety in your exercises. The body is very clever when it comes to performing activities with the least amount of energy possible. Introducing variety will help keep the body in check and in turn lead to more calories burned as a result. If your workout routine stays the same, it will not take long before the body performs the activities with very few calories. If the diet does not change, then this will lead to weight gain!
6. Have Fun - Find ways to keep your weight loss goals fun. This will keep you from giving up. Incorporate music, and or exercise with a partner.
Maintaining healthy wait is all a matter of planning and record keeping. It is important to keep track of all changes to diet and exercise. As you age, the bodies metabolism will naturally slow down. Monitor what works best for your body in regards to diet and exercise. This may seem like a tedious task but if not performed, there is a high possibility for failure.
